My Process + Purpose

Every hand-drawn pet portrait begins with connection. I start by learning about your pet—their quirks, their story, the place they held in your life. I invite you to share photos and memories, so I can tune in to their essence before ever putting pencil to paper. As an artist, I work primarily with professional-grade colored pencils on archival drafting film to create hyper-realistic drawings full of texture, light, and soul.

Most of my clients are searching for more than art. They're looking for a way to honour their pet’s memory, to preserve their presence, to hold something tangible in the space where loss now lives. I take that responsibility to heart. It’s why I approach every portrait with empathy, intention, and care. My mission is to create custom pet artwork that doesn’t just look like your companion—but feels like them.

The Heart Behind The Art

Brenda with her inspiration, Mulligan

Like many of us, I turned inward during the pandemic, searching for calm in the chaos. That search led me back to something I had always loved: art. What began as simple sketches to soothe anxiety quickly evolved into something much deeper the moment I drew Mulligan—my rescue dog, companion, and joyful chaos-maker. That portrait unlocked a part of me I hadn’t seen in years: the little girl who once spent hours with a coloring book and a box of pencil crayons, completely at peace.

As a highly sensitive person (HSP), I experience the world in vivid, emotional detail—and that shows up in every custom pet portrait I create. My gift is not just in drawing, but in feeling. I tune in deeply to the love, grief, and memories my clients carry. I don’t just draw pets—I draw the connection they represent. Their soul, their sparkle, the expression in their eyes. Whether you're celebrating a lifelong companion or seeking pet memorial art after a loss, this is more than a portrait. It’s a shared journey.

Every portrait I create is a sacred collaboration between your love and my pencil. It’s an honour to be trusted with your stories, your memories, and your grief. Whether you’re ready to celebrate your current companion or are seeking a gentle way to memorialize a beloved pet who’s passed, I’d be honoured to walk that journey with you.
